Canberra Civics, History & Government Educational Tour

Australian Democracy, War History & Political Systems

Tour Overview

Canberra Civics, History & Government Educational Tour is a curriculum-aligned program designed to give students a deep understanding of Australia’s political system, democratic processes and national history. Based in Australia’s capital, this tour provides direct access to key national institutions where government, law and democracy are enacted.

Students explore the foundations of Australia’s parliamentary system, examine the role of voting and representation, and reflect on Australia’s military history and national identity. Through guided museum experiences, institutional visits and ceremonial observances, the tour supports inquiry-based learning and aligns strongly with History, Civics & Citizenship and Humanities curricula.
